Özray General Manager Onur Karabulut, who made an assessment about the development process of the ELEVATOR and escalator industry in Turkey, stated that the number of companies with their own technology is very few and therefore there is a serious technology import trend in the sector. Karabulut said that due to the fact that the said technologies come from abroad, they face the risk of losing speed in costs and thus in exports; “As for elevator parts with less added value, our state has tax support. However, it should not be ignored that competition with China is getting harder. Happily, thanks to our well-trained and qualified employees, we can manufacture almost all of an elevator in our own country. Currently, we can compete with other world brands in countries where China’s trade volume is low. If the companies producing in the elevator sector focus on mechanization and automation investments, our competitiveness in the global market will increase even more.

Onur Karabulut, who gave the message that the transition to quality-based competition and the desire of construction companies for quality projects progressed on a parallel axis, said, “If we have a quality business focus like Italy or Germany, companies that do business in terms of price and cost; will do our contract work.

Thus, we will be in a position to look further and raise the bar easily.”
